Product details
RS Pro IEC C13 to IEC C14 Extension Cord
From RS Pro a high quality and durable power cable assembly or power extension cord for connecting a computer to a monitor or printer or extending an existing power lead. This extension cord is fully equipped with an IEC C13 type connector on one end and an IEC C14 connector on the other. The cable features integrated strain reliefs that provide additional protection and support to the connectors and protects them against damage from excessive bending.
What is a Power Cable assembly?
Power cable assemblies are electrical cables that are pre-terminated with a plug or socket connector. Power cable assemblies can be terminated with connectors on both ends of the cable, as in this case, or just one. Depending on the application, there are various types to suit a wide range of requirements.
What are IEC C13 and IEC C14 Connectors?
The IEC C13 socket and IEC C14 plug connector on either end of this lead have 3 pins, a rated current of 10 A and a maximum temperature rating of 70°C, and are sometimes referred to as cold connectors. These connectors conform to a set of specifications called IEC-60320 laid down by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) to make sure they meet common global design standards.
Features and Benefits
Flexible and durable cable with PVC insulation and sheath
Terminated with IEC C14 and C13 connector
Rated at 250 V ac, 10 A maximum
Fully moulded connector design for strength and durability
Reliable integrated strain relief for connection support and protection
What is This Cable Assembly Used With?
These IEC C13 to C14 extension leads are for use with IEC Class I appliances and are used in computer equipment for interconnecting and powering PCs and peripherals such as monitors and printers. They can also be used for extending an existing power connection. The C13 connector plugs directly into a device with a C14 inlet while the C14 connector plugs into another power cord which has a C13 connector. These IEC extension power cords are commonly used in data centres for providing connections between PDU (Power Distribution Unit) and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) devices and equipment with a C14 input.

BEAB
IEC and International Leads
A range of electrical appliance connecting leads, the majority of which are terminated with connectors that conform to IEC 60320. The IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is the international standards and conformity assessment body. The drawing illustrates the range of connector types offered within this section - The 'odd' 'C' numbers refer to a socket type connector - mains input - and the 'even' 'C' numbers refer to a plug type connector - the appliance inlet.
