RS Pro Tinned Copper Wire

From RS Pro, a range of tinned copper wire supplied handy plastic spools. The annealed single strand copper wire benefits from a thin tin plating making the copper wires robust and resilient to moisture. Tinned copper wire is particularly useful where excellent electrical conductivity and thermal resistance is required, suitable for use as rewirable fuse links and shorting links. The RS Pro range of copper wire is available in various diameters and AWG sizes. All models are highly reliable and excellent quality.

Features and Benefits

• Excellent corrosion resistance
• Easy to solder
• Longer life than non-tinned copper wire
• Resistant to humidity and damp conditions
• Range of AWG (American Wire Gauge) sizes

Applications

Insulated single strand copper conductors are utilised in a wide range of electronic manufacturing. The most common areas or uses are

• Motor coil production
• Transformer winding
• Inductors for electronics
• Relay coils
• Speaker coils
• Potentiometers

Who uses these wires?

Copper is the second most conductive metal in the world after silver. This makes the material extremely useful for the manufacture of conductive components. Tinned copper has many uses in the electrical wiring industry.
