RS PRO Solderpot Max for Lead Free solder

From the trusted RS PRo brand, this solder pot is an efficient and easy to use way to melt solder wire and some soft metals to a molten state. Once melted, the liquid solder can be used to solder tin wire ends or battery lugs, and even be used for desoldering purposes.

As solder tinned wires and tags have more efficient conductivity and corrosion protection, this solder pot is a useful companion to professional and hobbyists alike in electronics applications.

This solder pot includes a handy detachable tray that fits around the crucible for retaining excess dross. It also features a base that can be screwed to a work surface for added security against potential spills, or rubber feet if you wish to retain portability.

Efficient and effective, this solder pot is ideal for PCB and wiring applications.

This model is available with a UK, a European plug, and without an attached plug.

618-7967 is a solder pot with a UK plug
768-3592 is a solder pot with a European Plug
618-7973 is a solder pot without a plug attached

Features and Benefits

• Rated to 90W and operates up to 385°C
• For use with lead free solder
• Suitable for tinning components leads, wires, tags etc
• Detachable tray surrounding crucible
• Crucible diameter 39mm
• Seated on 120 x 120 mm ceramic base with fixing centres at 100 x 100 mm
• Supplied complete with solder

Safety Warning

For the safe and long-life operation of your lead-free soldering pot, please carefully consider the following safety tips.

• Hot and molten solder can spit, so be sure to wear eye protection when heating and refilling.
• This solder pot is designed for lead-free solder as using leaded solder can result in toxic fumes
• Solder pots should always be used in conjunction with suitable fume extraction equipment (see 123-4905 RS PRO solder fume extractor as an example.)

Applications

Sometimes confused with a solder bath, which are usually larger and rectangular in shape, a solder pot nether-the-less fulfills the same function and is used for dip soldering. Solder pots can be used as an efficient alternative to hand soldering. They provide a way to 'dip' wires and lugs for tinning, providing an even coating of solder with little waste of material or time. It can also be used as a crucible for fast and efficient de-soldering. A solder pot might be used in;

• Electronic Repairs
• Prototyping
• Production
• Hobbyist applications
